Information Collection and Usage
KUSZa collects information that you provide such as name, contact information and email addresses for which you gave your consent when you signed up to receive emails from us. You are not required to provide this information except when enquiring about an event or donating to the KUSZa.
We use your contact details so that we can contact you in case of issues with changes to event schedules, payment and similar circumstances and to send you our newsletter. We may also send you information relating to the event before, during or after the event. We use your banking details to process donations you have made to us and to send you a receipt for such donations. We also use your personal data to claim tax relief on charitable donations, if applicable.
The KUSZa also collects information about your use of our website including IP address, how much time you spend on the site and what you like to view, from both registered users
and general visitors to the site. This data is used solely to manage the website, track usage and improve our website services. This information does not identify the user personally and may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services, for example with Google Analytics. We keep your data until you inform us that you no longer wish to receive news from us. If you are contacting the KUSZa via email or website contact form with an enquiry, we will only use your details for the purposes of responding to your email.
Email Newsletter Opt In/Opt Out
We may use your email address to send periodic email newsletters regarding our retreats, Dharma talks and events. However, we will only do so if you have given us your permission. If you change your mind at a later date, simply click on the option to unsubscribe near the bottom of the email newsletter. To send our newsletter, we use the list provider MailChimp. MailChimp is a service provided by The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 512 Means Street, Suite 404 Atlanta, GA 30318. When you register for our newsletter, the data (name, email address) that you specify in the newsletter registration is transferred to MailChimp and stored there.
The service provider MailChimp has its headquarters in the United States. Therefore your data will be processed on servers / datacenters in the United States. After the registration you will get an email from MailChimp to confirm your registration (“double opt-in”). MailChimp offers many analysis possibilities on how the newsletter is opened and used. These analyses are group-centered and are not used by us for individual evaluation of newsletter recipients. More information on MailChimp and data protection of MailChimp can be found here: MailChimp.com/legal/privacy.
